I was quite pleased with my form three class today and I left on a high note. As I am walking back to the staffroom, a boy says, "You're an f***ing buller." So I called him, he ignored me. I called him again, he ignored me again. He strolls to the pipe and sips water, all the while I am calling him. His argument was that I didnt hear what the other boy said to him. I replied, "EXACTLY! I heard YOU!" Idiot. I cant punish the other boy if I didnt hear him.
So I took him to the dean, where his mother has to be called in.
Note 1: All I was going to tell the boy was that such language is not acceptable in the corridor especially with teachers around and to watch his language. I would have sent him on his merry way and he would have enjoyed his break time.
Note 2: One of his parents is an official in the Church. His parent led a chapel service last Friday urging the boys to be 'good fish.' I wonder what type of fish this boy is.
Note 3: He's weak and teachers acknowledge that and are willing to help him, but with a nasty attitude so, who would want to? Yes we're teachers, but we are human beings first.
Bottom line, the boy would not have gotten into trouble if he had just listening to my two minute speech. It would have gone in one ear and out the next, but he definitely wouldnt have gotten into trouble.
